There are tools for 2D lines and geometric shapes, as well as brush and pencil tools for making illustrative vector freeform drawing shapes. A geometry settings pane allows for precise numeric editing. Layers are part of the format, including features such as layer reorder, merge, delete, or adjust blend and opacity by layer.

As a former Serif Plus suite user on Windows, I was delighted when Serif produced similar software for Apple systems. I used Serif since converting to Windows in 1998, after the Windows revolution prevented my transferring of work from my Acorn RiscPC, an ARM powered machine, which easily beat Microsoft machines at every task. Those machines had drawing and graphics software built into the OS.Windows actually was a backward step but my native WP and Drawing software was not compatible with Windows and its Office suite.

Pros: Adobe Draw is very simple to work with, and visually very clean, which allows you to focus on the drawing, not the app. It can import and export many image types, and works with vector images, so it has extremely sharp quality, even when zoomed in very close. This is great for working with the My Body Model images that have more than 4 forms to a page. Layers are great for adding depth to the drawings, or playing with mixing and matching garment pieces.

However a year later, Adobe announced that they were going subscription only across their entire portfolio of graphic design products. CS was dead, leaving Creative Cloud as the only option for a graphic design software for graphic designers to stick to their much-loved Adobe products and use their old file formats. Of course, they can go and subscribe to Illustrator CC at any time but maybe they want to save the money and switch to another vector graphics editor instead.

The Vectr web app is currently only running fully in the Chrome browser, however it has a plug in available that allows for offline functionality. Each graphic in Vectr is given its own unique URL and these can then be embedded in existing designs that will then change according to any changes made to the source file. Vectr also supports multiple pages and works directly with the SVG format. It also let you do vector drawing and gives you the option to edit scalable vector files.

Inkscape is the oldest piece of software on our list and its user interface reflects this, being more complex than others, however it plays in the front of the pack when it comes to features. Graphic is one of the more beginner-friendly vector programs we've run across. Its UI is hands down the easiest to navigate out of our list, and thus our pick for anyone who is new to vector graphic design.

I've used Graphic since it was iDraw. A very easy to use program. Great for diagrams and quick drawings. For the last year I've been using Affinity Designer. It is quite powerful and even after a year I've only scratched the surface of what it can do. Be aware, the learning curve is near vertical at first. But don't let that dissuade you, it's a fantastic program with both vector graphic and bitmap tools. You can even mix them in the same drawing.

What about the venerable Intaglio? This has been around for years and remains my go-to app for vector graphics. It will even let me import and edit PDFs. There's an amazing amount of power in a pretty tiny package, though the UI looks like it came out of Classic Mac OS (but I find nothing wrong with that): 's also OmniGraffle, which has also been around for a while: Group have been producing software since the days of NeXTSTEP.

Description: DigiCel FlipBook is a 2D animation software. It was created with the intention of duplicating the animation process in its traditional form, much like Toon Boom Harmony and TVPaint. As FlipBook wants to keep the traditional aspect and the traditional 2D hand-drawn animations, it does not support skeletal animation. Thus each frame has to be created and drawn separately and in between is performed via onion skinning. The toolkit is raster-based and supports direct digital input of a drawing using a graphics tablet and scanning the physical drawing via either webcam or TWAIN-compliant scanner. 2ff7e9595c
